Experience

Following my BA, I started as a freelance translator, later on adding to my experience by working in an international accounting company as an in-house translator. It was followed by many years in a commercial bank and later – in the central bank. In addition to the in-house translator’s experience, all these years I have had successful collaboration with several Latvia-based translation companies and a local branch of an international bank as a freelance translator.

I have translated investment guidelines, loan/overdraft/credit line/pledge agreements, financial regulator audit assessments (on loan restructuring, prevention of money laundering, stress tests of credit risk, capital adequacy assessment and many more), accounting regulations and manuals, press releases, as well as the Commission of the European Communities’ documents on the European research infrastructure. Among the most challenging tasks can be mentioned a translation of a platform for investing in financial instruments.

I am well aware of the customers’ need for error-free texts that reach the target-text reader holding the same meaning that my customer has intended. To ensure it, I never fail to communicate with my clients throughout the process of translation.
